Diamante poems

Time

Time
Precious, vital
Fleeting, Unending, Restricting
Crushes empires into Dust
Crippling, Killing, Seperating
Heartless, Merciless
Endbringer

Truth

Truth
Brutal, Bitter
Seeking, Avoiding, Defining
Don't Blame the Messanger
Honesty

The brainstorming part certainly helped me a lot to find a start. But it was a bit odd to look for certain parts of speech. Lots of phrases came to my mind and it was rather hard to narrow them down to a disctinct single word. All in all I dislike to have such a strict limitation of form, but it sure is a good exercise.

  1. Dang, you were quicker! I love the first poem, it is so very visual. I like you approach, since my own "time poem" was so very different:

    Time
    endless, short
    fleeting, passing, running
    Can't be turned back
    Age

  2. Your's is a little less pessimistic I guess. ;-)

    p.s.
In that format it looks less like a diamond and more like a dog snout. :-) Where is the doggy one?

  3. Could you add the link to the picture at the bottom??? Just to make sure we're no being sued for anything and out of fairness ;)

  4. Pardon me, I actually didn't realize I had to do that. I've corrected that now.
